The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round

The perfect analogy came to me while working today. Picture yourself on the top floor of a tall building. You need to take the elevator down to the lobby. You wait fifteen minutes, then get on the elevator loaded with scary-looking smelly people. You notice the buttons have been pushed for every floor. This is mass transit, and why most Americans avoid it like the plague.
