Sadly, I did not even make number 129

Missed the list again. I must be the 130th. People Magazine lists the sexiest men alive, and once again I was passed over. This year, they even picked a foreigner. It's the accent, right? After all, how many times were Sean Connery and Mel Gibson picked ahead of me?

Ya know, there are plenty of women that think the Milwaukee North Side accent is really sexy.

I understand the magazine wanted to pick Barack Obama as the sexiest, but they decided to keep the contest open only to mere mortals.

When the emperor wears no clothes there's just too much information

Is Senator Barack Obama overexposed? Oh yeah, like expensive camera film when the dark room door opens suddenly*. Like Paris Hilton with a hidden video camera running. Like Britney Spears climbing into a limo. Like a guest on the Jerry Springer Show. He's that overexposed.
With Election Day still three months away, 48 percent said they're hearing too much about the Democratic candidate, according to a poll released Wednesday by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center. Just 26 percent said the same about his Republican rival, John McCain.

Obama, the 47-year-old Illinois senator who would become the first black president, has dominated political news coverage much of the year. According to an ongoing Pew study, Obama has appeared in more news stories this year and more people say they have heard more about him than McCain, the longtime Arizona senator who also ran for president in 2000.

Two-thirds of Republicans and about half of independents said they've heard too much about Obama, as did a third of Democrats, a significant number.

When you're a People magazine kind of candidate, perhaps your life-cycle is just so much shorter than the next politician. People keeping waiting for the feel good Obama story to be pushed aside by the next pretty blonde college girl gone missing or a missing pregnant woman with a husband not cooperating with the police. Shark attacks, anything. Somebody please kidnap a rich little kid just so we don't have to spend one minute more listening to how Senator Obama is going to bring "change"!

Fortunately, Wisconsinites have Brett Favre accumulating frequent flier miles to distract us. Timmy could fall down the well and even Lassie wouldn't care.

*If you don't get the analogy, I can't help you.

Screwed again by People Magazine

Once again People named their list of the 100 most beautiful people (ht: Althouse) , and I was overlooked once again. I was about to fire my publicist Pedro when ICE cleared out his rooming house. I knew he was a bargain at less-than-minimum wage, but you know what they say about jobs that Americans won't do.

Pedro left a note on my desk telling me I made the list of the 100 best looking Wisconsin bloggers, and that I need to pose for photos in my usual blogging attire. My wife suggested some clothes instead.

I don't know yet what magazine it's for, but I bet I finished in front of that Owen guy.
