Dan Fogelberg, RIP

Musician Dan Fogelberg died Sunday of cancer. He was 56.

His music typified much of the 1970s "soft rock", at times a syrupy commercial goo that was a guilty pleasure in too many record collections. But Fogelberg's music had a personal feel to it, setting it apart a little from his contemporaries, and he could tell a story. So while "Part of the Plan" may have had little to redeem it, "Hard to Say" does deftly convey the sense and emotion of a relationship on edge.

At least it was music written by an adult for adults. RIP.
