Polls

I wish election day was already here. I would be up with my clipboard, my maps, my lists of key states, and my gyro dinner ready to sit through the long night. Last time when I heard Bush won and started getting ready for bed I couldn’t get the cork outta the champagne bottle. Little did I know the next morning I would be waking up to a real mess. This year I’m not bothering with the champagne as I expect it will be a long night regardless of the margin of victory. The Democrats will do anything and everything to fight the results. My biggest fear is that they’ll steal enough votes to make it within Florida-like margins in several states.

That said, I am sick of watching the polls and trying to figure out which is right, etc. I wish a polling company would do what I would do, poll a representative sample in each of the 50 states and use that to figure out who’s most likely leading. I know, it costs too much. But dammit, in state-by-state numbers is where the election really takes place.

My election prediction will be up by this Friday, state by state.
