The Vatican is taking a cue from other large events and marketing Pope Benedicts six day tour of Germany. Hoping the Popes homecoming and the surrounding hype will revive the membership of the Roman Catholic Church in Germany.
Expectations are high for a large turnout and it is reported that a portion of the autobahn near Regensburg is to be shut down and used as a parking lot.
Colorful pope hats, t-shirts, mugs, umbrellas and lighters have been flooding into the shops to commerate the visit, along with Benedict Beer for the thirsty faithful.
