I can't say I was ever a big fan of Richard Pryor. I don't think I ever forgave him for wrecking the Superman movies. His movies took a foul-mouthed stadium-rocking comedian and ruined him.
But then... there was the cocaine incident. And everyone heard how he caught on fire attempting to freebase cocaine. Then rehab. And then, his return.
Richard Pryor Live on the Sunset Strip was one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
When that fire hit your ass, it will sober your ass up *quick*! I saw something, I went, "Well, that's a pretty blue. You know what? That looks like *fire*!" Fire is inspirational. They should use it in the Olympics, because I ran the 100 in 4.3.
"When you're on fire, people move out of your way."
One of my favorite quotes of all time. Whatever pain drove him to cocaine, he's escaped it now. Richard Pryor, 65, died of a heart attack this morning.
