In an effort not to offend any of my Chinese, Jewish or Muslim readers, January 1st will no longer be known as New Year's Day on this blog. From now on, it will be simply referred to as "holiday" so as to not offend anyone by my ethnocentric reading of a calendar designed by successive generations of oppressive Dead White Males who, perhaps because of their racist view of the world, still can not get our solar calendar correct.
It's part of the new, kinder, gentler me for the year 2006 CE.
