Gas pump politics

Lest I forget, tomorrow the Wisconsin State Assembly takes up the repeal of the automatic increase in the gas tax. Much of the attention will be focused on Assembly Speaker John Gard, who is also candidate for US Congress. Gard has come in for heavy criticism and has had an especially bad time of it lately. We'll see if the faith of his defenders is rewarded tomorrow. You'll forgive me if I hold off rallying for Gard until ethanol is just something you drink when white lightning is not available.

Someone else to watch tomorrow, State Representative Ann Nischke, who wants to be mayor of Waukesha.
