trust me = screw you

Shhhh. There's an interesting whispering game going on in the 33rd Assembly and it's called, "Trust Me." As in, "Trust me, Kent Woods is really a conservative" or, "Trust me, Kent Woods was only paid to say those things about TABOR. He's much better now."

Interestingly, it's not just one source for this. Jessica McBride heard it from "...some of the Republican Party faithful in Waukesha County (not the Party as an organization to my knowledge, but rather some of its members)." I heard it from a different source in an "off-the-record" e-mail last night. Owen at Boots and Sabers is getting lobbied as well.

Shhhh. Don't tell anyone Kent Woods testified at public hearings against TABOR. He's really for it now. Trust us. Besides, he only did it for the money.

It's actually condescending when you think of it. Trust us, because we know better than you. Who're going to believe, us, or your lying eyes?

And then the whole, "he did it because he was paid to do it." He's such a moral degenerate he would sell his principles for cash? But we're supposed to trust him now? What, have the other lobbyists stopped handing out big checks for campaign contributions and are only handing out Skee-Ball tickets now?

Woods may be "a really good guy" but his track record says to the taxpayers, "Screw you", and no whispering campaign is going to change it.
