West Side Story

The (West) Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Spivak & Bice is reporting Republican political consultant Brian Fraley may challenge Republican State Senator Tom Reynolds in the GOP primary next year.
Fraley, the owner of the political consulting firm The Markesan Group, is the former director of the Senate Republican Caucus and was once chief of staff to ex-Sen. Bob Welch. Fraley, 37, who lives in Tosa, ran unsuccessfully for the County Board in 1998.
Welch, it may be remembered, was an unsuccessful candidate for the US Senate against Herb Kohl.

Fraley's other attempt at winning an election was his unsuccessful bid to become WISN's new morning personality, Milwaukee's Next Talk Star.

Meanwhile, the candidate he would take on, Reynolds, is a two-time GOP primary winner. He has a win against GOP Establishment favorite Mac Davis in a Congressional Primary Election, and later knocked off GOP Establishment favorite and incumbent State Senator Peggy Rosenzweig to take the seat Reynolds currently holds. Reynolds has a strong personal following and would be a tough incumbent to knock off.

If, by some chance, Fraley were to defeat Reynolds, much of the party support in that district would be sufficiently demoralized that it could become a competitive seat for the Democrats to take.

Update! Right after I finished typing this I saw Wendy's post at Boots and Sabers,
Political dude and Milwaukee Talk Star contestant Brian Fraley will be filling in for Mark Belling this afternoon. Check him out on WISN from 3-6pm.
It would be a good opportunity to dispel the primary rumor. I said, it would be a good opportunity to dispel the primary rumor. Brian?
