House Republican Majority Leader Tom Delay indicted

Looks like Tom Delay will have to step down as Majority Leader. Predictions:
1) Given his insane comment that there is no more pork left to cut from the budget, look for conservatives to sit on the sidelines.
2) Every bad joke about being a former exterminator will be brought out by the Democrats and their allies, proving they are the party of small business, the middle class, and "the little guy." (Sarcasm intended)
3) There will be more pressure on Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist over his stock trade.
4) Democrats will be talking like it's there turn for a 1994 style takeover, totally forgetting about redistricting and gerrymandering.
5) The new Republican majority leader will want to play nice-nice with the Democrats to be different than Tom Delay.

I have no belief one way or the other on whether Delay is innocent, but I'm guessing he'll be acquitted. But that's just a guess, and it's more honest than what you'll be reading the next few days. I'll highlight the worst examples of hanging the man for being a Republican rather than for any specific crime he's accused of.
