The Western part of the state gets new attention from Jeff Burton in a blog dedicated to following the 3rd Congressional District Race, The District 3 Race. According to Jeff, the race is expected to be between incumbent Democrat Ron Kind and Republican Paul Nelson.
It seems hard to believe it was nearly ten years ago moderate Republican Congressman Steve Gunderson came out of the closet and retired from politics, opening the congressional seat for Kind.
