Not a dry eye in the place

There is joy among the meat packers. Prohibition was finally ended in the western part of Green Bay, 58-42 percent. No word yet when they’ll allow dancing and rock n’ roll music. According to the News Chronicle:
The change in the 1898 ordinance means restaurants and hotels can serve liquor by the drink if they wish. There were, at last count, only two liquor licenses available in the city.

The new ordinance would limit license holders to those types of businesses, and only in areas zoned for business. Taverns would not be allowed.

Will keep you posted on the first establishment to get their license. (Hey! Clean taps!)
