Over at Lakeshore Laments Kevin discusses the Catholic vote and presidential elections and the likely future.
Ann Althouse says, "I wasn't going to pope-blog" comments on the New York Times article also looking at the politics of the Catholic vote.
The gist of the article is that Benedict will energize American bishops to directly criticize Catholic candidates who don't adopt the complete set of orthodox Catholic beliefs, which will make it very hard on Democratic candidates. But there is no direct quote saying that.
Over at GOP3: The Triumvirate, Daniel makes his pitch for declaring Congressman Mark Green Wisconsin's leading Catholic politician. Green, of course, is the likely opponent to Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker for the Republican Party's nomination for governor. Parenthetically he adds, "For the record, if something happens where Scott Walker emerges as the foremost Baptist in Wisconsin, please let me know because I would post on that too."
Over at Powerline, the latest outrage by Reuters. Sadly, Reuters is only typical of news services in this regard.
For the record, my small but steady readership saw a spike the last couple of days which I would attribute to my comments on the election of Pope Benedict XVI except I notice that most people are searching for the stats of an obscure former Dallas Cowboy punter. As Glenn Reynolds would say, heh.
