How about dragging it out to sea instead?

At the end of a long whine about the lack of lighting for the Calatrava addition to the Milwaukee Art Museum, Whitney Gould suggests permanent lighting for the orange anchor at the end of Wisconsin Avenue blocking the view, "The Calling".
Meantime, let the museum at least install uplighting around Mark di Suvero's bold asterisk, "The Calling," the O'Donnell Park sculpture it owns in front of the Calatrava. Yes, it's the artwork everyone loves to hate, but contrarians like me cherish it in part because it reminds us that cities are all about complexity and contradiction.
Whitney, there's a reason why everyone hates that thing. It's ugly. It's not art. And to make matters even worse, it blocks the view of the Calatrava! And if you illuminate the damn thing at night, you really won't be able to see the Calatrava behind it!
Light pollution is a legitimate concern.
So's putting up scrap metal and calling it "art"! How about we call "The Calling" litter and dispose of it?
