Fire Bob Harlan? Maybe, among others

Now, if Packer fans and shareholders are looking for an excuse to start firing people, let's ask why Brett Favre is starting this weekend in a meaningless game. You know when this game will have meaning? When Favre is carried off in a stretcher during the first series of downs.

I know, I know, the streak. But let's be rational about this. 1) Favre is not playing the best football right now and could probably use a break. 2) What backups he has (Thanks Sherman, Harlan) have almost no playing time. 3) Every coach in the NFL will have a new cliche: The Favre. That's when a coach should rest his key starter but doesn't because the coach is afraid of his most popular player. Of course, the key player gets hurt, killing the team's playoff chances.

Let the streak end before it ends the hard way. And since nobody in the Packer organization has the guts to make that call, Packer fans and shareholders can ask for people to be fired.
