But why do the gas pumps need to go to sleep? The gas station on the corner has "pay at the pump" like almost every other gas station, but when the station closes they turn the pumps off.
Meanwhile, if there's enough gas in my car I can drive up to highway 18 to the Pick N Save and get gas 24 hours/day from pumps that have no attendants but require paying by credit card. So if the gas station on the corner would have just set their pumps to just require a credit card before pumping, they would not have lost my business.
