CNN's chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta is reportedly being considered by Obama for the position of Surgeon General.
My reactions:
1) Nice to see a member of the media actually on the Obama payroll instead of just acting like it.
2) If you're looking to cut government spending, getting rid of Surgeon General is a great place to start.
3) I can't help but remember "Gupta" from the final season of the Sopranos as the prison doctor treating Johnny Sacrimoni but getting shoved aside by Warren Feldman (played by Sidney Pollack). Funny how memory works.
