I think you would have to go all the way back to Lennon’s “Give Peace a Chance” for such a collection of shallow and childish blithering. At least Lennon’s effort could try to claim some artistic merit (as dubious a claim as that might be) or at least originality. This vapid display has nothing redeemable to claim. We have seen the new fascism, and it’s accompanied by a cheap synthesizer drumbeat.

Perhaps liberals could use this as a desperate plea for music education funding. Tim Rock suggests conservatives will be jealous. Hell yes. At least Stalin had Shostakovich. Look at the crap we’ll be forced to listen to.
