The additional days are required to make up for when all MPS schools were closed due to bad weather Dec. 11 and Feb. 6.
"We discussed simply adding minutes each day to our school days as some other area districts have been able to do," Superintendent William Andrekopoulos said. "We realized that would not have provided enough of the time that the Wisconsin Department of Instruction requires us to have."
One of the two makeup days will be in mid-May. The other will occur at the end of the school year in June.
Wednesday, May 14, will now be a student attendance day. It had been previously scheduled as a training day for staff.
In addition, for most MPS schools, Friday, June 13 is now a student attendance day and the last day of classes for the school year.
The scramble to reserve VCRs and DVD players for those days is on.
