Well, so much for blogging this evening. About 9:00 PM about 7400 people lost power in Waukesha, including here at the Library & Pub. I spent most of my evening planning what to do if the power didn't come back on in a reasonable amount of time. The lovely Doreen from Waukesha and I can tough out a temperature drop in the house - two small children can't.
Fortunately we have firewood and a gazillion candles. We even have bottled water and propane for the grill outside.
Ever notice how a fire in the fireplace makes a lot of noise when there's no other distracting noises in the house? (Like the furnace, for example.)
