Wisconsin's Axis of Evil

WEAC, the road builders, the counties association, and the realtors are getting together to shake down the taxpayers. They've formed a new coalition, Wisconsin Way, "designed to engage the public in discussions about how Wisconsin can change its tax structure to meet the needs of the 21st century."

They're going to hold a series of "public hearings" (Waukesha on November 8th) and then they'll probably propose a tax shuffle involving a huge spike in the state sales tax coupled with a slower increase in the property tax to fund their wishlists.

It'll be interesting to see if Republicans, having been willing agents of the road builders and developers for years, will be able to resist this effort.
