As a color man on the Green bay Packer radio broadcasts, McGee had a knack for sounding like one of the fans in the booth, albeit a knowledgeable fan, and was part of a team with Jim Irwin that led many Packer fans to mute the sound on their television sets and listen to the radio while watching the game.
