hardly seemed to last a day
but it's over and what can I do?
Maybe it was always too much to hope that these "boys of summer" could extend the season just a few more days. Too young. The manager too inexperienced. The bullpen too shaky. The starting pitching never living up to its potential. An outfield and a lineup too unsettled to be consistent.The good news is that they can only get better. For the first time in a long time, "Wait 'til next year" is a promise and not just sour grapes.
Still, it would have been nice to have just a few more days under the sun.
