The conservative thing to do

It's not often that I get to write a column with both a lightbulb joke and a quote from Obi-Wan Kenobi, but sometimes the subject is deserving. Take for instance JB Van Hollen and the rapidly expanding crime labs. At this pace, Van Hollen will have more employees than the DMV by the time his term ends.

Good thing we're not throwing money at the problem, because that would not be "the conservative thing to do."
