A judge decided today to give custody of Anna Nicole Smith's rapidly decomposing remains to the court-appointed guardian for 5-month-old Dannielynn Smith. In turn the lawyer quickly announced Anna Nicole Smith is going to be buried in the Bahamas.

In the course of handing down his judgement, the judge lost his composure and his dignity.

The judge, who choked up frequently and sometimes blubbered as he explained his decision, compromised and gave custody to Milstein. And the judge made it abundantly clear what he felt should be done.

"I want her buried with her son in the Bahamas," he said through tears. "I want them to be together."

The Associated Press also reports,

Seidlin teared up earlier Thursday when he abruptly cut short the proceedings to say he had made up his mind. In a sometimes rambling statement, he said "I've been trying to figure out, in a spiritual sense, how to bring it all together."

Anna Nicole Smith's mother plans to appeal the decision.

I haven't seen this much wrestling over a dead body since Ted Williams became a popsicle. Al least Williams hit .400 one season.
