There is an amber alert for
a 13 year-old Missouri boy named William Ownby. From the
National Center for Missing and Exploited Children:
William was last seen getting off his school bus at 3:30 p.m. A white Nissan pick-up truck with Missouri plates was seen in the area at the time. The truck, a 1992-2000 model with Nissan written on the upper right side of the rear tail gate, had rust and damage on the right rear passenger side, a camper shell, no hubcaps and a trailer hitch with no ball. It may have a ladder rack. William was last seen wearing blue jeans, a Saint Louis Rams windbreaker and carrying a backpack. He may go by Ben.
Update! 1/14/07 Both William Ownby and another boy, Shawn Hornbeck (missing for four years), were found alive.
Police had been searching for Ben Ownby, 13, who disappeared Monday, when they found him with another teenager in a man's apartment in suburban St. Louis, Missouri. That boy told the officers that he was Shawn Hornbeck, who was last seen riding his bike in 2002, when he was 11.
The man who lived in the apartment, Michael J. Devlin, 41, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of first-degree kidnapping, according to Franklin County Prosecutor Robert Parks.
