One of the great acronyms that should be part of our everyday language is "OOPArt": Out Of Place Artifact. OOPart comes from archaeology and is used to classify such objects as a paper airplane in an ancient Egyptian tomb.
The word sprung to mind the other day when I heard "Come On Eileen" on WRIT-FM, the supposedly really oldies station.
