Bob Jacoby was being followed by a man from a known drug house, Cory Flenorl, threatening to kill him. The response of the first cop on the scene? According to what Jacoby told Spivak & Bice,
he wasn't too helpful. "He said, 'Did you call the police?' " Jacoby said last week, "I said, 'My wife did.'
" 'Well, they're on their way. I've got to take off.' And then he left."

As it turned out, Flenorl had been in court just the day before on charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to deliver, a felony, and marijuana possession, charges that were based on evidence from the earlier police raid. Flenorl, 27, was released after posting $2,000 bail.
Neither Flenorl, who has a long rap sheet, nor his attorney returned calls.
On Sept. 16, Flenorl was charged with a misdemeanor and felony for his actions with Jacoby. The prosecutor asked that bail be set at $25,000, but Court Commissioner Kevin Costello put it at $3,000, an amount that he posted within hours, and issued a warning to stay away from Jacoby.
