Violating the no establishment clause
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, speaking at the United Nations, called President Bush "the devil." Upon hearing the speech by Chavez, the American Civil Liberties Union, People for the American Way and the Freedom From Religion Foundation filed suit in federal court demanding that federal funds be stripped from the United Nations. The groups claimed Chavez's use of "the devil" to describe President Bush was a clear attempt to impose his religious beliefs on the public using a taxpayer subsidized forum and a publicly owned facility.
