Steve Irwin was killed in a tragic accident yesterday while diving near the Great Barrier Reef. He was filming footage for a series called Oceans Deadliest when he was killed by a stingray. Normally stingrays are not deadly but can deliver a painful wound with the barb at the end of thier tails.
This particular Stingray was positioned underneath him and the barb went into the chest cavity causing a hole in his heart.
Im sure many of us enjoyed his shows about the animal park he ran and pretty much expected him to be eaten or injured by one of the crocodiles that he enjoyed getting so close to. I for one am truly saddend at the thought that the Crocodile Hunter is gone for good.
