You may have heard Charlie Sykes mention this on the air today. Bill Christofferson finds himself in agreement, at least on this facet of the issue. Applying the minimum markup law to ethanol is stupid.
(Of course, the ethanol lobby has no problem asking for government mandates when it would benefit them.)
The governor has moved to stop enforcement of the minimum markup law on ethanol blends, a somewhat questionable move.
It would be far better to repeal the minimum markup law for gasoline and ethanol and let the marketplace decide. The governor has indicated he is willing to sign such a bill. Do the Republicans have the necessary willpower?
