Lost it in June

More on Doyle's Travelgate and election woes in my column for the Waukesha Freeman:

Of course, what we still don’t have is the governor’s campaign giving back the $20,000 in donations from Adelman Travel’s Craig Adelman and Mitchell Fromstein.

At this point, readers from Illinois may be a bit confused, but let me assure them that it’s true. The governor canceled the contract that was given to his politically connected friends because of the bad publicity, but he kept the money. I know, I know, that’s usually the opposite of the way things are done, but in Wisconsin the governor gets to keep the money for his campaign.
