Empty threat

State Senate Republicans blocked one of Governor Doyle's appointments today, and the Democrats went into caucus, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Democrats then retreated behind closed doors to discuss what to do next, but State Senate Majority Leader Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center) warned them that he would not let them delay votes on proposed constitutional amendments to limit government spending and other issues.

"We're not going to discuss very important business in the middle of the night," Schultz warned.
The veracity of that statement will depend more on the type of business being conducted rather than the clock, I think.
