Dennis Krueger, candidate to succeed Paul Bucher as the Waukesha County DA, reminds us that as April comes to an end so does "Sexual Assault Awareness Month." This is an important issue with Krueger who recently received the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault (WASCA) “Voices of Courage” Award.
“You don’t have to be in law enforcement to make a difference in fighting sexual abuse,” Krueger said. “Every one of us as voters need to let our voices be heard and let our elected officials know that we support their efforts to crack down on these criminals and support these victims.”
Krueger is advocating the creation of new laws:
→ Expand the definition of sexual assault;
→ Allow the use of technology for recording assault victims’ testimony;
→ Allow judges to limit accused sexual abusers’ ability to contact their victims or witnesses in their abuse cases;
→ Make video voyeurism a crime; and
→ Prevent convicted sex offenders from working in jobs where they have regular contact with children.
BTW, given how hard Krueger has been working already in his campaign, if you stand still in any crowd in this county for longer than five minutes you'll probably bump into him.
