Scott Walker learns from Tom Sawyer

Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker should be placed in charge of PBS. The artist known as Wyland has offered to paint another Whale mural. Walker, noting that Wyland makes money from the "sale of marine-themed coffee mugs, T-shirts and other items," is asking that Wyland pay a fee to paint the wall.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quotes Wyland as saying, "They want to charge me to come there and give a free mural to the county? This guy's really out of touch. This is a first."

Maybe it is a first, but could you imagine if all those production companies that make money off of PBS had to actually pay PBS to air their programs instead of vice-versa? We would never have a public television asking for money again.
