The Associated Press reports a twelve-year-old boy stuck his chewing gum on a painting worth $1.5 million at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
The work was immediately retitled, "Detroit Spoiled Brat" and the valuation was raised to $10 million. Whitney Gould of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel praised the boy for his use of "unorthodox materials and style in composition deconstruction" and petitioned the Milwaukee County Board to purchase the work.
