The Waukesha Taxpayers League enthusiastically endorses Ann Nischke in the race for mayor of Waukesha. There is a distinct difference between the two remaining candidates. Ann is a proven fiscal conservative and the only remaining candidate who has signed the WTL pledge. Her promise to stand up and fight against needless tax increases, and her support of the Taxpayer Protection Amendment, clearly positions her as the taxpayer’s candidate in this race.
I think its fair to say that as this race lines up to be the conservatives (Nischke) vs. the liberals (Nelson) it is going to get harder and harder for Nelson to win. It probably doesn't help when he keeps getting plugged by the Democratic Party of Waukesha:

Waukesha Alderman Larry Nelson, a member of the Waukesha Democratic Party, was one of two candidates to survive Tuesday's primary for the office of Waukesha Mayor. Seven candidates had run for the office. Nelson, a teacher at Butler Middle School, will face Republican State Representative Ann Nischke on April 4 in the final election. Nischke was the top vote-getter with 1,529 votes to Nelson's 1,380 votes. The primary election attracted only about 12 percent of registered votes. Both candidates expect a larger turnout for the April election. The two candidates will be vying to replace retiring Mayor Carol Lombardi. Nelson, a Waukesha alderman for six years, campaigned on a nine point 'vision' that included recruiting new business to the city and historic preservation.
With help like this, who needs enemies?
