The Waukesha Freeman still loves me

I haven't threatened to cancel my subscription in weeks. Damn paperboy still walks across my lawn. They're running the best of Dreyfus still like he was the Pope. But I digress...

Anyways, they ran my letter to the editor (subscription, registration, first born required).

Newcomer endorsement misses a major point

To the editor:

I see that my old friend Scott Allen has endorsed Scott Newcomer in the coming special primary election in the 33rd Assembly District.

While normally I find myself in agreement with Allen, I had to laugh when he wrote that Newcomer is “a lifelong resident of Waukesha County.” While this may be true, it glosses over a major point of contention in the election. By Newcomer’s own admission in correspondence with George Dunst of the State Elections Board, Newcomer does not live in the district in which he is running, and will not move into a home in the district until July (possibly August).

Fortunately for Newcomer, the governor has spared him the embarrassment of showing a photo ID with his correct address on it when he goes to the polls.

For the record, yes, I really know Scott Allen.
