How many out of work Democrats are there?

When I read yesterday that Democratic former state representative Shirley Krug was hired by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) as a project manager making $72,155 per year, and that she beat out eight other people for the job, I thought to myself, "Are there really eight other Democrat politicians out there still looking for work?"

After all, what's the point of controlling a huge, sprawling buraucracy if you can't employ your own, right? Heck, when you run out of "real" jobs (yeah, right) there's always consultant positions. It's not like MMSD doesn't need experts. They always need experts.

Someone really needs to sit down with Mayor Barrett and say, "We're sorry. Hiring one loser party hack isn't enough. You've got to create more positions. How will it look if [former State Senator] Brian Burke ends up flipping burgers for a living?"

Then we learn they may use her for lobbying duties in Madison. Work? Work? I thought after the whole Kleczka debacle the work requirement for former Democrat officials was officially abolished. I must've missed the memo.

I just hope she doesn't have to drive an MMSD vehicle to Madison to do this lobbying.
