Ethanol happens

Republican Assembly Speaker John Gard got his wish, and the State Assembly last night passed the bill (AB 15) requiring all regular-grade gasoline sold in the state to include 10% ethanol. The legislation now goes to the State Senate.

Before we lead the charge to spike John Gard's race for Congress, his Republican primary election opponent Terri McCormick voted for the bill, too. However, it doesn't mean we have to like Gard, either. In fact, I think it quite all right to despise a loathsome little creature of Madison cravenly seeking favor with those with a little ready campaign cash in exchange for whatever principles he may have had. I hope the State Senate can do better, but I suspect not.
