In the 33rd Assembly District, a number of candidates are claiming they are THE pro-life candidate, even touting endorsements from Pro-Life Wisconsin and Wisconsin Right-to-Life, without mentioning that some of their opponents received the endorsements, too.
Here are the actual pro-life endorsements in the special election in the 33rd Assembly District:
Pro-Life Wisconsin
Dave Marlow, Kent Woods, Troy Fullerton, Scott Newcomer and Jack Perry
To earn this endorsement the candidates had to pledge to be against abortion in all cases - no exceptions. That includes no exceptions for rape, incest, or danger to the life of the mother.
Wisconsin Right-to-Life
Scott Newcomer, Kent Woods, David Marlow, Troy Fullerton and Jack Perry all have a 100% rating from the organization. The criteria for the rating was not released with the endorsements.
The special primary election is December 13th, the special general election is January 10th. The winner of the Republican primary is the likely winner in the general election given this district leans heavily Republican. The winner will fulfill the remainder of the term left vacant by Dan Vrakas leaving the position to become County Executive of Waukesha County.
