James,There will be a candidates' forum on Nov. 28 at 7:00pm in the Genesee Town Hall, with GOP County Chairman Don Taylor moderating the event. The event is sponsored by the Waukesha County Republican Party.
I agree with your assessment on the uniformity clause. It's there to protect all taxpayers from being screwed over by ensuring that property taxes are based on property value.
There are plenty of other ways politicians can and do give special breaks to different classes of citizens, and I might remind Mr. Fullerton that there are lots of people over the age of 65 who are in a better position to pay property taxes than many working families.
As far as Scott Newcomer's residency, it's a non-issue. Scott was born at Waukesha Memorial Hospital in 1965 and has lived in Waukesha County (including parts of the 33rd A.D.) his entire life. In fact, he was a cub scout in Dousman at the same time Kent Woods was graduating from High School in Iowa. And I hear Troy, who was not born until 1975, is actually a transplant from Oklahoma.
Can we go back to talking about the issues now?
