The note, entitled "Football Season is Over", was written four days before Thompson committed suicide. With any luck, it'll be a fitting epitaph to a generation of self-absorbed, do-nothing counter-culture "baby-boomers" whose self-pitying was so well encapsulated by the pathetic way Thompson finally pulled the trigger.
