Wait until they get hit for violating Wisconsin's minimum markup law

Blogger Beer has a story about $.28/gallon gasoline, and no, it's not a story from the 1940s.
A buddy of mine informs me the other day a Van Zeeland's service station location mistakenly set one of their pumps to dole out 28 ¢/gallon gasoline. Needless to say he filled up every gas consuming item and every gas holding vessel he had. Just as he was going to fill up his last vehicle the station got wise and shut down all of the pumps. Apparently they went FOUR HOURS like this.
Turns out Van Zeeland was one of those that profited from the panic after September 11, 2001.
The owner of a gasoline distributor based in Little Chute said Wednesday he would donate profits from his dramatic price increases to the American Red Cross for victims of the terrorist attacks.

Todd Van Zeeland apologized for raising regular grade gasoline from $1.69 to $2.95 a gallon on Tuesday.

Van Zeeland said he finally rolled back prices three hours later after cashiers were threatened and harassed at the dozen Mobil and Marathon convenience stores supplied by his wholesale and retail gas distributorship.
