State Supreme Court holds Pow-wow on Indian Casinos

The Wisconsin State Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the lawsuit brought by the owners of the Dairyland Dog Track in Kenosha who argue a 1993 state constitutional amendment prohibits casino-type games. Should their lawsuit be successful, the Wisconsin Supreme Court could shut down all tribal casinos in Wisconsin.

According to the AP, "The Forest County Potawatomi operates a casino in Milwaukee and said the suit put 35,000 jobs at risk."

No word from Marquette University's Father Wild or board of trustees chairman John Bergstrom how running slot machines and poker tournaments affects the reputations and stereotypes of the various tribes.
