Museum president resigns

Beleagured Milwaukee Public Museum President Michael Stafford resigned today, the Journal Sentinel is reporting. He leaves behind a fiscal crisis, a $7 million budget deficit, massive layoffs, the distrust of business leaders around the city, and Museum Board Chairman David Meissner.

I don't think Meissner is going to be able to handle it.
The museum's future, including whether it can remain open in the short-term, depends on county officials, the museum's lenders and the museum's own fundraising efforts, Meissner said.

County Executive Scott Walker will have a big say in whether the institution can remain afloat, Meissner said.
Does he think there will be a taxpayer bailout? Has he not paid any attention to what's been going on in Milwaukee County government? Meissner better go to plan B.
