He and Holloway want to see, by early next week, a detailed turnaround plan with precise timetables for stemming major deficits that have forced the privately run, county-owned museum to make deep staffing cuts, nearly drain its endowment fund and seek emergency help to make payroll.Boots and Sabers has more analysis.
However, I still don't think the Museum Board gets it. The Journal Sentinel quotes museum board Chairman David Meissner, "I don't know what he expects," Meissner said of Walker. "To lay off people, it hurts."
I think Walker expects the museum board to get their act together and fix this problem because there's no financial bailout from the County coming to save the museum. Meissner and co. better figure that out quick.
