I find it interesting that WISN radio was willing to pre-empt Paul Harvey for the announcement of the new pope (the former Cardinal Ratzinger, Pope Benedict XVI) . It probably helps the decision when the talk show host's brother is the Archbishop of Milwaukee, Archbishop Timothy Dolan. It was great to hear Archbishop Dolan's first reactions and the excitement in his voice. Must've been a great boost to the moving of Weber and Dolan to the new time slot.
But then they cut to Rush Limbaugh which they air on a one hour tape delay, so we're listening to Rush when he doesn't even know who the new Pope is yet! Jerry Bott was in the studio when the decision was made. Duhhh. You couldn't convince Jay and Bob to postpone their golf games for another hour?
Meanwhile, WTMJ has the Brewers game on! Arrgh. Apparently when breaking news happens, there's always Chicago radio.
