Continued thoughts on the Pope

Tony Iovino of A Red Mind in a Blue State has a bone to pick with the late Pope. I respond inadequately in the comments.

I have good news on one front. St. Williams joins the other Waukesha churches in having a special Mass for the Pope. This one is Thursday at 6:30 PM. The Freeman online has a listing of other churches having special services.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is unhappy with Governor Jim Doyle's request to lower the flag to half-mast in honor of the late Pope.
"The Pope was the world's leading sexist," said Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Foundation. "Why should Wisconsin women be expected to revere his anti-woman, antediluvian teachings?"
Well, at least she got "antediluvian" correct. Strangely, no protest on their site regarding the lowering of the flag at Lambeau Field for former minister Reggie White. I guess they were agnostic about that. No word from my spy yet in Green Bay whether Lambeau Field has lowered it's flag in honor of the Pope. And finally, no word from any veterans group protesting the lowering of the flag.
